Professional photographers will often tell you that the best way to deal with camera proportions vs. print proportions is to "shoot wide" allowing for cropping for the final print size.
Most camera viewfinders display images with a roughly 3:2 ratio. Ratios are not exactly the same for all cameras types and print sizes vary. That means often your images must be cropped.
Un-cropped photo 3:2 ratio: 4" x 6", 8" x 12" or 12" x 18".
Traditional American sized photos: 8" x 10", 11" x 14" or 16" x 20".
International Standard sized photo and art papers: A1: 594 x 841 mm - 23.4" x 33.1" A2: 420 x 594 mm - 16.5" x 23.4" A3: 297 x 420 mm - 11.7" x 16.5"

Giclée is a French term which means to spray ink and is pronounced "jee-clay". Giclee prints can be done on a variety of materials.
Giclée printing is a process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks and archival substrates to print on large format printers. Giclée printing is often used by artists to make reproductions of their original two-dimensional artwork, including watercolors, oil paintings, photographs or computer-generated art for resale while preserving the original.
Many artists will sell prints of their original works of art. Prints are normally both signed and numbered to allow the viewer to know which numbered print and how many prints were made.
