Create an Abstract Paper Sculpture from cutting one piece of paper. Use the entire paper no scraps left over.
Photograph the sculpture from many different angles using only one light source to create crisp shadows. A second cell phone light makes an excellent angle light and can creates strong shadows when used in a darker room. Draw in pencil the sculpture from the best angled photograph and include the shadows. Shading is the main focus for your drawing.
Hand in both the best photo and the matching drawing as jpegs. On an I-Phone choose most compatible in camera settings for jpeg.
This industrial design video doing the same assignment using thicker paper, an Exacto Knife and a stapler. We normally use thin computer paper, scissors, and glue (rubber cement works faster than Elmer's Glue).
Clear tape holds well, but does not look as good in photos as rubber cement.
