Take photos of something old, or find an old 200+ year old artwork.
Use a Media other then digital art. Create a hand made art work by, drawing with charcoal, oil pastels, colored pencils, or used other materials such as fabric, paints or watercolors.
Combine the images of your artwork, and vintage images and make a modern twist. Try using multiple medias to create your diverse Mixed Media Project. Carefully Photoshop your images together well.
You may use 200+ year old famous artworks that are copyright free.
Hand in all photos you use, plus your finished altered artwork. Make sure to document the webpage and information of the original artwork proving it is copyright free in Word when you hand in your new retro artwork.
In the U.S.A. a copyright lasts for the life of the artist, plus 70 years after the artist's death. The Library of Congress has many 200 + year old copyright free images.
Wikipedia has many paintings, art images and photographs that are 200+ years old and are copyright free. Try searching Medieval Manuscripts or a specific Renaissance artist or artwork that is 200 + years old.
Most cultures have ancient artworks, but in some countries they are not copyright free! Make sure what you choose is copyright free, and is used so not to upset a race, culture, religion or group of people.
